Municipal Administration The community has demonstrated strong municipal leadership, support and participation in pursuing economic development. The community is actively involved in local, regional and provincial political issues that impact the area. It is critical that this leadership is maintained and not lost during the difficult times ahead. Recent efforts by the municipality to pursue a coordinated economic development approach with neighbouring communities is seen as a most positive step towards future development efforts in the area. The Elk Lake Eco Resource Centre and the Library Building are examples of the ambitious projects that the town has pursued to help diversify the local economy.
